Katharina is a creative director with over 15 years of experience. She is a critical thinker and problem-solver who views design through a holistic lens, ensuring every aspect of a project is carefully considered and produced at the highest quality.


Currently, she is the Creative Director at The New York Public Library (NYPL), one of New York City’s most celebrated cultural and educational institutions. She leads creative direction, art direction, design, and overall management of key communications initiatives that span a broad range of media and audiences across the Library’s 4 research centers, 88 neighborhood branches, and 5 exhibition spaces.


Katharina began her career as a designer at Pure+Applied, where she worked for a variety of cultural institutions, curators, artists, architects, and urban planners. She later worked at Catch 24 Advertising and Design as the project manager and lead designer for Lufthansa Airlines. Her work has received awards and recognition from the design community, including GD USA, Brand New, Print Magazine, and the Webby Awards.

 
Prior to graduating from Parsons School of Design, Katharina studied art history at the Courtauld Institute in London and painting in Vienna and Florence.
