INSTASTORIES

The New York Public Library joined forces with independent advertising and creative agency Mother to reimagine Instagram's Stories as a means to bring classic works of literature to the Instagram feeds of a new era of readers and make classics accessible and relevant.



 

The project featured art from talented illustrators including Magoz, Buck Design, Studio Aka, Pelizer César, and Caitlin McCarthy. In the first three days following launch, the Library’s Instagram gained more than 44,000 followers, well over 100 times the average growth rate of the prior six months. The campaign also increased downloads of the Library’s SimplyE e-reader app, a core goal of the campaign, by more than 68% (iOS) and 108% (Android) in the 15 days following campaign launch.
